We hebben hier te maken met een technisch goed onderlegde kunstenaar (sommige werken zijn uit wel 150 transparante lagen opgebouwd)

Hoe meer transparante lagen hoe beter de techniek van de kunstenaar?

Wat een BS dat het technisch goed onderlegd is,
het is puur geduld, ik doe het zelf ook, soms wel tot 50.000 layers (een pupil bij mijn werk telt misschien 150 layers)

en @ pascal verstegen: je hebt misschien meer lagen gebruikt, maar dat zegt natuurlijk niets over hoe het beeld er uiteindelijk uitziet. eigenlijk wel knap dat iemand in 150 lagen tot iets komt wat een ander in 50.000 lagen niet lukt.

I love her works, it's a lot more impressive for real, her pictures are large and so detailed, don't miss the shows. I've seen her works in NYC last year and she's great.

So good is het work actually not. people found out she copies official BJD [ball jointed doll] pictures for her art. How can it be a Unique "mijn schatje" style if its actually art made from a picture that the owner of an official ball jointed doll shop website made. Her art does look nice but it isnt really her own creation.. she editted some things like changing a bit of the hair ant stuff but things like the face are 100% the same. Inc the way how some of the dolls are standing. If you dont believe it: i got today a mail about it with a big list of illustrations that shows that its a copie of the pictures:

Now im wondering does she tell people that her artwork are actually copy's of pictures or not. On http://www.mijnschatje.fr/ it tells: het unique "mijn schatje" style. It says nothing about the real ball jointed dolls where her art is copied from.

there are more things that show that what i heard is the truth.. messages from the company's of the Dolls. But i decided not to put that site online yet cause i dont know if the owner wants that. but im sure there well be more news about this happening in the future.

I have seen that already!
I have been reading already in her interviews about her dolls references and about the ball jointed dolls, which I found interesting, I had never thought that it would be possible to create art out of a doll.

I think that you are just bored people who do not know anything about digital art and who are willing to get some attention.
I am not interested in your drama hunger and I hope that nobody else will be following you.

Her art is pretty, but it is a great shame she does not ask for permission for all the pictures she uses apparently. Hey, if she loved the dolls and considers them her muses why does she not credit the ones who sculpt her muses in the first place?

Because she wants to claim all those faces came out of her mind? Because she can?

Art? Maybe, theft of someones picture/art? Certainly.

mmm what art did she steal from ? I do not see any art before her work, and I looked at the mentionned website...

Then, it sounds that she was chosed as a prey of that weird witch hunt for some personnal reasons, because obviously she is transforming the dolls photographies so much that there is no point in asking wether her work is original or not.

We all know that the internet is a welcoming place for bored people looking for any eventual "dramas" to possibly fill the big hole that their life is, which is why people invented the expression "get a life"

I do believe that there is a big difference between her work and the base photo, well try taking a commercial shot and turning it into a real interesting artwork and get back to me if you can, you'll understand my point!

all the real dolls are hand made and designed by the company's... if someone uses it for their own needs.. .. its just not a nice thing to do.

She does make nice art from the existing dolls but there are things you just cant do.. If you are someone who made something and someone else copies it and tells everyone that its 100% from her own and asks money for it, then i dont think you would be like: YES SOMEONE IS USING MY STUFF ETC.! I think you would at last have wanted that that person does speak the truth about doing what she does.

I do no tthink that she has been hiding anything since I have been talking with her about ball jointed dolls, whe was the one to explain me what they are and where they come from, you did not. I do believe that you have a personnal anger about her and I don't know what it is or what it has to do with her work.

oh i dont know her personal at all...and im sure that she does know about BJD im not saying that she doesnt. I only think that at last the company's should have given their agree in using their works or should have been mentioned somewhere as a thnx for helping with her art projects. Afterall she did used their pictures.. It looks like she didnt have those agreements and ive never seen the names of the company's etc seen showed... There were some normal doll owners wich did allowed her to use their stuff and if they agree with not beeing called at all then thats their problem...that makes a bit difference. When i draw something but then actually some things are token from works from someone else i do mention the names and stuff about what i used. [Ofcourse im far from a artist wich can make beautiful things] but im just trying to make understand what i mean.

This is ridiculous. I sculpt these dolls – they are an art on their own. Months and months go into making them, as well as thousands of dollars. She not only stole people’s photography but the sculptor’s art. These are not Barbie dolls – the face is a copyrighted art of the sculptor. But if she tried to do the same thing with a Barbie – trying to pass it off as her own work – she would have gotten sued a long time ago. It seems that every piece in her work is traced - from the tiger to the boom box to the shoe. If she was to declare herself as a collage artist that would be one thing but nowhere does she mention whose images she is using or that she is even using others work. These are NOT stock photos – they are the work of many people (sculptors, painters, photographers) and not royalty free images to be used at one’s will. I am very familiar with Illustrator – it is not difficult to do what she did, just very time consuming. If she was to credit those involved it would have been fine but she didn’t. She obviously knows it is wrong because she keeps dancing around the issue. She has yet to admit that she uses these images as a template to trace and keeps calling it “inspiration”, trying to deceive her fans. She has made thousands of dollars off of other people’s work and it is not right!

Pfft! The question here shouldn't be what art she stole, but if you can really call that stuff she claims to make "art". Can she even draw on her own?

All I see is faces, poses, clip art and photoshop brushes taken from somewhere else and then put all together.

And this so called artist even uses them over and over and over again.

To those defending her, tell me where exactly do you see art in Mijn Schatje.
